Premier League Winner

Today I thought I would bring up a topic that everyone is thinking about. Something we all think we can predict. So I'm going to give you my opinion on who I think will win the premier league.

For me United are always contenders.
They have a formidable strike force in Wayne Rooney and Robin Van Persie, with back up strikers like Welbeck and Hernandez.
But and there is a big but; they are struggling in the middle of the park. Even with the new signing of Kagawa they are still very weak in the mid-field. I think Anderson and Fletcher are good players but I don't think they are of United's class. Cleverly is coming into his own but I still think he has a lot of catching up to do if he is to be as good as the likes of Scholes and Kean who where the best midfield partnership Man Utd have seen. Sir Alex has been desperate in relying on Scholes and Giggs who in his old age has been put in the middle of the park instead of on the wing. Luckily for him I think Giggs and Scholes are still playing at a good enough level but can they keep it up all season? I think not, which is one of the reasons I think Man United will fall short of first place. Moving on from their mid-field, Man United's defence is far from perfect. In my opinion Rio is past it and Vidic has had no one to form a real partnership with. For a first place finish Alex has got to splash out on maybe two defenders and definitely another decent midfielder.

Where do I start with arsenal, I have much respect for Arsene Wenger and what he has done at Arsenal but they cant go on much longer like this. Players are leaving left right and centre. They need to launch an attack for the premier league else they will soon find them selves slipping out of premier league football. For a team that has had 7-8 world class players in the last 4-5 seasons they have done nothing and to be content with fourth place shows a lack of ambition for me. I don't think they have a chance of winning the Premier League at all this season. Unless they spend big and take some pressure off the 1 or 2  top players that are left at the club, they wont do for a while.

Manchester city have a good strong squad but they have a lot of egos and a lot of players that play in the same position. Dzeko, Aguero, Tevez, Balotelli  are all top strikers and having to sit on the bench too much.
While Toure is obviously the star of the show, Hart is also a quality player. They have a very strong squad but they don't really look united and I would be surprised if City can make it two Premier League titles in a row.
I think city will get top four and there will be a change in management in the next year if they don't win the champions league or at least challenge for it. My money is on Guardiola to take the reins!!
My money is on Chelsea to take this years Premier League title. Chelsea have made a bold statement with the signing of Hazzard and Oscar and what signings they are! With Mata also on fire and Torres finding the net again I think its Chelsea's year. They have a good defensive line and Cech is still a top goalkeeper. If they can continue this form I don't see why they wouldn't win. I don't think their is a team as good as Chelsea going for the Premier League at the moment and I think United are the only team that could upset Chelsea at the moment. I wouldn't be surprised to see more big names coming in the January transfer window. People forget that Man City are not the only team with money to spend and Chelsea know how and who to buy.

  1. I completely agree, looks as though the two Manchester clubs have got their eyes on each other rather than the main prize. Its Chelsea's for the taking this time round, as long as the Russian that owns them doesn't lose the faith in RDM!

  2. I personally think Man United will win the league this year.

Chelsea have made some brilliant signings (and personally I would prefer them to win the league out of the genuine contenders); but I think they still need a new striker (continued faith in Torres is misplaced) and they look ropey at the back as RDM insists on playing Luiz.

Some of Cities big players look like they have lost interest in giving 100% to the cause. They look shaky in defense, which is what they relied on so heavily to win the league last season. Along with the Champions League cock up I can see Mancini gone by the end of the season.

To have Arsenal as a consideration is silly tbh - they are nowhere near winning the title and are in a battle with Spurs and Everton for 4th at best

I think Fergie will not want to concede the title to City 2 years running and he seems to be rotating less which I think will work to their advantage as some of their squad players are not up to scratch.

  3. Yeah i did say Arsenal didn't have a chance, Its interesting that we are not siding with city, what has Mancini done wrong this season that he didn't do last year? Is it form or something behind the scenes? will be interesting to see if Mancini is here after Christmas

  4. Ste - I think city will win the league. They'll come strong come February/march. And I think they'll sign someone big in January, someone like Neymar. You heard it here first folks!
